Wifi, Screen Sharing, and Tech Support

A Community Manager will provide guest wifi password cards for you and your guests. Please ensure you are connecting to the “Guest at The Village Works” network.

Connecting your screen

HDMI: Our meeting rooms are equipped with both a wired connection (HDMI) and wireless connection (Apple TV/AirPlay) for screen sharing. HDMI connection is the simplest and fastest way to connect.  In rooms with cables integrated in the table, you’ll find an HDMI cable there. We also have extra-long HDMI cables as a backup, so you’ll always have a reliable way to connect. HDMI to USB-C adapters are available in the room and with the Community Manager.

AirPlay/AppleTV: On a Mac, click the slider bars icon in the top right corner and select Screen Mirroring and your room’s device. A passcode prompt may appear on the TV (sometimes this requires connecting twice, for reasons unknown!). If your screen size is hard to see when mirrored on the ultra high-definition TV, choose Display Settings in the same menu and select “Optimize For” and choose your computer. Please consult a Community Manager for assistance with tech setup.

Webcams

All our rooms include an HD webcam. Many of our webcams have a long USB cable looped behind the TV. USB-C adapters should be available in the room, or contact your Community Manager if you need an additional one. In rooms with cables integrated in the table, you’ll find a both HDMI for the TV and webcam USB plus there.

Adapters

You’ll find common adapters on the TV console. If you need additional dongles, please contact a Community Manager for help with your tech setup. We also have a variety of assorted chargers and adapters at the front desk, as well as speakerphones for conference calls.

Speakerphones

If you’ve arranged for a speakerphone, it should be in your room on arrival. If you’d like to ues a speakerphone, your Community Manager can bring you one, based on availability. Phones include domestic calling and an incoming call number. Speakerphones are included with your room rental.

Audio-Visual and Tech Support

We’re here to help! If you don’t see us at the front desk, or if you want to reach us from your room, feel free to call or text 617.651.0681!

    Special Requests

    Planning Photo and Video Shoots

We love hosting photo and video shoots, but they require more coordination and approvals in advance. Based on our experience, we’ll need to check in about parameters such as load in/out and what areas your crew needs access to. A day-of point person should be identified in advance, even if it’s not the same person completing the booking. We cannot guarantee access for photo or video shoots that aren’t approved in advance by our team, though we’ll always try to help with last-minute requests!

Public spaces at TVW are fully ADA accessible. Please let us know if you require any additional assistance. There are handicap parking spots directly across Washington Street in Brookline Village and at the corner of Eliot and Centre Streets in JP.

    The Village Works
is a neighborhood coworking space in Brookline Village and JP. We offer flexible memberships for our shared workspace as well as offices, meeting rooms, events and community connection.
